About

Mountain Dew recently has become the official sports drink of the National Basketball Association and was looking for relevant and authentic ways to connect with the culture surrounding basketball. The NBA has leadership roles in many aspects of culture including; fashion, music, cars, sneakers and basketball both street and court. Mountain Dew partnered with MNTDew to influence and participate in this culture through the Elevate Your Game integrated campaign.

Instinct > REason

I had the privilege of growing up trying lots of different things. I attribute a lot of that to my dad and his endless list of hobbies. It seemed every weekend we'd be out doing something. A weekend fly-fishing, camping, flying (both real and model) airplanes, dirt bike racing, restoring an old Chevy pick-up, well you get the idea.

It's my love of cars though that got me into advertising. I didn't figure this out immediately, but after studying every little detail about my favorite muscle cars or exotics I actually learned a lot about design. It makes sense then that I became an automotive designer.

Funny thing is, I didn't.

I went into advertising, following in the family business of sorts. My father was a VP in marketing. I remember the day he introduced me to an agency guy with a thick black beard, smoking a cigarette, holding a drink in his hand and asking if I'd be interested in being an intern.

Through 16 years so far in this industry I've tried a lot. I've worked at a mix of small and big agencies and I think that's made me into the kind of creative I'd like to work for. Someone who's worked their way up the ladder, step by step, and has a good sense of the entire business operation.

Being a manager also continues to teach me about myself and others. The ability to know when to lead and when to follow.

I wake up every day and head to an office to make advertising that I believe in. Work that improves people's lives. And I enjoy being around people that do the same.
