Swipe bye-bye to dining as we know it
Last year in Chicago, deliveries topped sit-down meals and local restaurants are taking notice. Some like Corner Bakery are setting up a simple shelf for delivery and carry out. Others like Big Star have set up a completely different kitchens and service windows specifically to service delivery, carry out and walk ups without disrupting those in the dining hall. As brands continue to fight for brick and mortar foot traffic, new restaurants are sprouting up with only a small(or sometimes borrowed) kitchen to deliver meals sans the fancy store front.
How do we keep the theater typically provided in a sit-down experience? Is there a way for marketing companies to help these struggling restaurant brands stand out and build a special relationship with their customers beyond the convenience of digital?
5 Ways to bring brand theater to delivery/carry out:
1. The delivery packaging of food is your new host.
2. Smartphones can create unique ambiance through music.
3. Food storytelling through augmented reality could connect the chef to his/her customers.
4. Leftovers are a chance to own branded space within the refrigerator.
5. Napkins, silverware and sauces provide an opportunity to brand space in the kitchen.
Hope this helps,
B
